Quick answers

"I can't find a solution to a level โ€” am I stuck?"

Tap the Hint button below the board (the lightbulb ๐Ÿ’ก). It costs 40 coins and shows the next move with a finger + highlight animation. If you don't have coins, you can watch a short ad to get the hint for free.

If you think a level is genuinely unsolvable, email us โ€” we hand-tune every level and verify solvability in CI, but bugs slip through occasionally. We'll send you a coin gift on the next update if you find a real one.

"I undo'd by accident โ€” can I get my coins back?"

Undo costs 15 coins per tap and can't be refunded once used. If a move went wrong, tap Reset (โ†บ โ€” 50 coins) to restart the level from scratch instead. If you've made zero moves, Reset is free.

"I bought Remove Ads but I still see ads"

  1. Force-quit Shiftline (swipe up from the bottom of your screen, then swipe Shiftline up).
  2. Re-open the app.
  3. If ads are still showing, tap Settings โ†’ Store โ†’ Restore Purchases.
  4. If still showing, email us with your purchase receipt (Apple โ†’ Account โ†’ Purchase History โ†’ screenshot).

"I lost my progress after updating"

Your profile is stored on your device, not on our servers, so we can't see or restore it remotely. If your stars/coins disappeared after an update or reinstall:

  1. It usually means the local save was reset โ€” most often after a reinstall, or if the app had to recover from a corrupted save file.
  2. Email us what happened (which version you came from and roughly how far you'd progressed). We can't restore the exact save, but we'll send a goodwill coin + diamond gift to get you back on track.
  3. Cloud save isn't available yet โ€” for now your progress lives only on this device, so avoid deleting the app if you want to keep it.

"My daily streak broke even though I played yesterday"

Daily streaks track calendar days in your local time zone, resetting at midnight. Complete the daily challenge on consecutive days to keep the streak alive (a play just before midnight and another just after count as two separate days). If your streak broke even though you played, email the date it happened with a screenshot of your streak counter and we'll look into it.

"The game crashed โ€” what do I do?"

Crash reports go to us automatically (anonymously โ€” no personal info attached). If the same crash keeps happening, email with:

"How do I replay the tutorial?"

Settings โ†’ ABOUT โ†’ How to Play โ†’ walks you through the same 9-page tour you saw on first launch.

"How do I reset everything and start over?"

Settings โ†’ DANGER ZONE โ†’ Reset all data. This erases your stars, coins, diamonds, cosmetic unlocks, and daily streak. Cannot be undone.

"Can I play offline?"

Yes โ€” the campaign, the daily challenge, and all your cosmetics work fully offline. Today's daily puzzle is generated right on your device, so you don't need a connection to play it. A connection is only needed to submit your daily result to the Game Center leaderboard, to buy anything in the store, and to load ads.

"Can I turn off the sound / music?"

Settings โ†’ FEEDBACK โ†’ toggle Music or Sound Effects. Toggles save instantly.

"Can I turn off the screen-shake animations?"

Settings โ†’ ACCESSIBILITY โ†’ toggle Reduced Motion. Honors your iOS system-level Reduce Motion preference automatically too.

"I'm colorblind โ€” what helps?"

Settings โ†’ ACCESSIBILITY โ†’ toggle Color-safe Markers. Adds shape patterns to the path tiles so green/red distinction isn't required.

"When is Android coming?"

We're focused on the iOS launch first; Android is planned for after it settles, but we don't have a firm date yet. Email if you want to be on the Android early-access list.

"Can I run a giveaway / make content with the game?"

Yes! No special permission needed for streaming, YouTube videos, TikTok clips, or community giveaways. If you're doing something at scale (10k+ followers / paid sponsorship), email and we'll send you a press kit.
